Lard
Also known as: Pork Fat
Rendered pork fat — pork and all its derivatives are haram.
Why?
Lard is fat rendered from pigs. Pork and all products derived from it are explicitly prohibited in Islamic dietary law, with no conditions under which lard would become permissible for routine consumption.
Good to know
Common in some baked goods, refried beans, and older/traditional pastry recipes.
